As founder of Rigana in 1982, Richard has been part of the family from the beginning. Although officially retired he is still very much part of the company and shares his wealth of knowledge and experience with everyone. “Being able to mix retirement with business is very fulfilling. Rigana is in my blood so it’ll always be part of my life – whether retired or not.” Staff appreciate his commitment to the company and are always ready to learn from the man that started something small and turned it into such a great success.
Grant was handed the CEO reins from his father, Richard in 1991 and has been at the helm ever since. Grant’s passion is to develop people and see them push through their comfort zones to achieve a common vision. “My dream is to see Rigana established as a truly innovative company with a strong international footprint.” Grant is mad about running and has completed 11 ultra and 28 standard marathons, proving his level of commitment and endurance to achieving the goals he sets himself.
Nirisha joined the Rigana family as Financial Manager in August 2007 and has become an integral and valuable member of the team. “I love the versatility of my job as well as the company’s culture of developing people to bring out their best in order to make a difference in the world.” Nirisha appreciates the time she spends with family and enjoys creating fond memories.
Viril joined the Rigana team in May 2016. Extensive experience in assisting organisations with drafting management strategies in line with their mission and vision has allowed him to excel in project management and leadership skills. “I really believe in the value of teamwork and working towards a common goal.” Viril is a passionate, vital member of the Rigana team who’s goal is to put in a solid performance to add value to the company.
Shabnam has been keeping our financial figures in shape since June 2015, and her position as financial manager has been vital to our company’s success. “The diversity of my job enables me to make contact with the amazing, friendly and helpful staff members every day. The friendly atmosphere at Rigana and the pleasant staff members make it very enjoyable to work here.” Aside from her ambitions of growing the company and managing an entire branch of Rigana, she enjoys baking and building indoor camps with her children.
Previously coming from the printing and packaging industry, our regional sales manager Jason has been with Rigana since May 2015. “I love the new challenges that Rigana has to offer, and the fact that everyone has the same passion and drive to take the company to the next level, which makes work exciting”. Jason shows his love for new challenges by taking part in numerous sporting events such as the Comrades marathon, the Shongweni parkrun’s and the Midmar mile. He also dabbles in the creative world of photography in his sparetime.
Tracy joined the Rigana team in July 2015 and does a great job to ensure that the company’s cash flow never comes to a halt. “I like the versatility of the job. There is always something new to learn. I enjoy interacting with others and learning different things about them.” Tracy has a passion for people and is always finding ways to make a difference in others lives.
Jessica began working at Rigana in July 2015 and her wide range of admin skills have been a great asset to the team ever since. “Everyday is a new challenge. The staff are not just employees, but they are family. As individuals we are staff but collectively we are Rigana.” In her spare time Jessica loves to travel as well as spend quality time with her family.
Sakhile has been part of the Rigana family since 2008 when he started as a Storeman. Sakhile says, “Being part of a company that believes in producing good quality products is very rewarding.” Being allowed to grow and develop new skills is something Sakhile finds very valuable, which is why it’s not surprising that he’d like to start his own business one day.
Nicho started with Rigana in 2009 as a Messenger. His commitment to hard work and eagerness to learn has enabled him to climb the ranks to Operations Manager. “I enjoy working with people, so being able to communicate with suppliers, customers and colleagues is what I enjoy most about my job,” says Nicho. His ambitious attitude is what drives his dream to hold a management position one day.
Nicholas is a very familiar face at Rigana – he’s been with the company since 1998 and started as a Forklift Driver. Nicholas prides himself in getting the job done to the highest standard. “No one is better than anyone else at Rigana, we’re all treated the same and it’s something that makes the staff happy. I’d like to see Rigana growing because if the company succeeds, so do we!” says a very happy Nicholas.
